The Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is in search of a thorough and results-driven Training Evaluation Specialist who can contribute significantly to the evaluation and improvement of our training programmes. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact on the future of wind energy training if you have a strong analytical mindset, an eye for detail, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Standards help our industry to work more efficiently and effectively. Last year, more than 170,000 technicians working within the wind industry received GWO certified training, accessed from more than 550 third-party certified training providers throughout the world. GWO is on a path to expand this workforce significantly while creating a broader set of standards and frameworks, so we need your help.

How will you contribute to the development of safety training and workforce development?

In this newly created position, you will play a key role in the GWO Secretariat, contributing with your professional competence and belief in high achievement. As a Training Evaluation Specialist, you will be pivotal in ensuring that GWO trainings and certifications achieve the intended outcomes. Your expertise will help maintain and improve the quality and effectiveness of our strandardised training programmes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive qualitative and quantitative assessments of curricula to demonstrate value to stakeholders.
  • Design scalable methodologies and tools for training evaluation and standardisation.
  • Collect and analyse data to support the evaluation of training standards.
  • Recommend procedures and methods to improve data capture, storage, and sharing.
  • Create reports and presentations from evaluation findings.
  • Continuously evaluate training programs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure competency verification of awarded WINDA training records.
  • Evaluate and adopt technologies for training quality assurance, such as digital record-keeping and learning management systems.
  • Work with training providers, certifying bodies, and other stakeholders to conduct assessments, including research and focus groups.
  • Utilise industry trends and best practices in training evaluation and performance measurement.
  • Work towards global recognition of GWO training standards, collaborating with international wind energy organizations.
  • Effectively communicate GWO's training standards and certification processes to all stakeholders and provide necessary training and support.
  • Assist the compliance team with technical advice and training.

A well-grounded individual with healthy values and excellent interpersonal skills. You know the importance of communicating constructively, and even when you do not know the answer to a question, you take the time to assist the person seeking an answer.

What we expect:

  • Proven competence in working in training evaluation, performance measurement or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of evaluation methodologies, for example Thalheimer’s Learning-Transfer Evaluation model, Kirkpatrick’s Four Levels of Evaluation, Brinkerhoff’s Success Case Method, Phillip’s ROI Methodology, etc.
  • Proficiency in quantitative and qualitative data analysis techniques and tools.
  • Experience working with digital training setups and design including, LRS and LMS systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written).
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience from wind or similar industry is an advantage.
