Ann Duedahl steps down as Member of the GWO Board of Directors and Chair of the GWO Wind Training Committee.

Following her imminent departure from GE Vernova at the end of January, Ann Duedahl resigns as Member of the GWO Board of Directors and Chair of the GWO Wind Training Committee, effective from 1 February 2026. In accordance with GWO’s Articles of Association, the Board of Directors has now appointed René Burholt Svanum as the new Chair of the GWO Wind Training Committee.
Ann Duedahl, Global Learning Leader at GE Vernova, remarked:
It has been a great pleasure to work with GWO’s Secretariat teams, Committees and Board of Directors. Looking back over the time we have worked together, two achievements stand out to me as examples of how far we have come. Firstly, I am honestly quite proud of the way we have agreed on a strategic way forwards for GWO’s next steps to ensure our industry receives the highest level of quality in training delivery from Training Providers. Secondly, the focus on workforce development, culminating in a growing GWO Wind Training Committee and the formation of a GWO Solar Committee, is testament to how this organisation lives its values in enabling a future-ready global energy workforce. It has been an enlightening journey, and I have enjoyed our exchanges of ideas and beliefs. I wish you all the best.
Jakob Lau Holst, CEO of GWO, commented:
Ann has been a strong advocate of GWO since she began working as an active representative of our organisation with the Wind Training Committee in 2014. She has served as both Vice Chair and Chair of the Wind Training Committee and was elected to the GWO Board of Directors in 2023. Her participation in our work has enabled the development of our strategy and mission to where we are today, and I speak on behalf of all of us, members and Secretariat, in saying that Ann’s contribution has been very significant. Her dedication and guidance in taking the organisation forwards in the spirit of “for the industry, by the industry” has been greatly appreciated.
