Audit and Compliance Committee
The A&C oversees compliance of the Association with its objectives, established high-level governance and legal requirements within GWO.
The A&C's objectives include monitoring the effectiveness of GWO’s Business Management system and Quality policy, ensure compliance with the governance as adopted by the Board of Directors and relevant legal requirements, and act as a complaints and appeals body regarding decisions taken by the Secretariat against a Certification Body, Auditor or Training Provider within the accreditation system.
Jan Burgdorf

Jan has worked in the renewable energy sector since 2012, starting as a Marine Coordinator for TenneT. He developed into an HSE expert for offshore wind through various positions with EnBW, Siemens and Vestas. In 2022, he joined RWE as Director HSSE at RWE Renewables for onshore wind and PV/BESS, where he is leading a team of internal and external HSE and Security experts. He will contribute with his knowledge to support the expansion of GWO and the continuous improvement of its standards.

A graduate Electrical Engineer, David has worked in the HSE field for 24 years and in the renewable energy sector since 2010. David is a strong believer in common training standards as a foundation for safer working. He has also been involved in driving industry safety standards through various other national and global industry bodies.

Cory began work in renewable energy with Airway Services in 2015 and has worked as a Technician, GWO Instructor and Quality Manager.
Maria del Carmen Diaz Arias

Global Senior Quality Manager, Global Wind Service
Maria has over 15 years of experience in the renewable energy sector, as Head of Quality for the Mediterranean Business Unit at Vestas for 12 years, followed by a role as Project Quality Manager for Iberdrola’s offshore Saint-Brieuc project. In 2023, she joined GWS as Global Senior Quality Manager, where she continues to drive excellence in the QSE management system across international operations.
