Department:
Communication & Engagement

Do you want to be part of the fast-growing renewable energy industry? Are you passionate about storytelling, social media, and meaningful communication? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are looking for a Communications Associate to join our team at Global Wind Organisation (GWO) and take the lead on social media and internal communications. This is a unique opportunity for a creative and driven communicator to help shape the voice of a global organisation working at the heart of the energy transition.

Global Wind Organisation's mission is to enable a safer energy transition as the globally leading body for standardised training and workforce development.

Standards help our industry work more efficiently and effectively. More than 170.000 technicians working within the wind industry receive GWO certified training, and we are on a path to expand this workforce significantly, and on describing a broader set of standards they will be able to access at more than 500 third party certified training providers throughout the world. Our strategic focus on workforce development aims to increase the pool of GWO trained entry-level technicians and secure a workforce fit for the industry’s long-term growth in construction, installation, operations, and maintenance.

How will you contribute?

As our Communications Associate, you will play a dual role. You will manage and grow our social media presence, develop creative content, and run impactful campaigns that raise awareness of GWO globally and also support internal communication efforts, helping align our teams through structured communication, newsletters, and collaboration with internal stakeholders. As a small organization, there’s flexibility to contribute to a range of communication activities based on both business needs and your skills and interests. Your work will directly contribute to our mission, drive engagement with key audiences, and strengthen our internal culture as we continue to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

Social Media (60–70%)

  • Manage and optimize GWO’s social media channels (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
  • Plan, launch, and manage paid social media campaigns
  • Curate and repurpose content from approved partners and internal sources
  • Measure and report performance metrics; provide actionable insights
  • Propose new and effective content formats to maximize reach and engagement
  • Develop creative templates and multimedia content aligned with brand guidelines
  • Consider AI tools for productivity and performance improvement of campaigns

Internal Communications (30–40%)

  • Design and implement a structured internal communications framework
  • Set up and manage a regular internal newsletter
  • Partner with People & Culture to turn quarterly Pulse Survey insights into impactful employee engagement communications
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to create compelling newsletter content
  • Actively contribute to the development and rollout of the new Intranet

As our new colleague you are:

A well-grounded individual with healthy values and excellent interpersonal skills. You know the importance of communicating constructively, and even when you do not know the answer to a question, you take the time to assist the person seeking an answer.

What we expect:

  • Master degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field
  • 2 years of experience in social media and/or internal communication
  • Fluency in English (verbally and written)
  • Strong copywriting and content creation skill
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g. LinkedIn Campaign Manager)
  • Experience with internal communication tools and newsletters
  • Creative mindset with an eye for design (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar tools)
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills

If the above sounds interesting, you should join us!

Seize the exciting opportunity to be part of an expanding industry where one can grow, enjoy and contribute.

GWO offers the following:

  • Purposeful work for a non-profit organisation
  • Flat organisational structure
  • Emphasis on a balanced work life
  • Continuous personal development
  • Strong foundation for professional networking and sparring
