September 22, 2025

Phase 2 - design report approved. The Training Committee voted for 2/5 modules, however only 2 recommended by the Secretariat. 4 approved for continued development however 2 were on the verge of not being approved. The top two will be developed first then transformer maintenance and HV connectivity will again be reviewed November meeting as a phase 3.

Release date provisionally after approval - January but whenever ready - however Training Committee delayed vote last month - new vote for approval 17 September. Two pilots planned for November depending on Training Committee approval.

Gate 3 delayed. Training Committee asked for a further analysis of uptake and demand. Moved to 11 September.

Project scope

This project aims to develop and implement a high voltage standard in the wind industry to address skilled labour shortages, enhance safety and streamline upskilling.

Thomas joined GWO in 2023, with 20 years’ experience in development and delivery of Safety, Emergency Response & Technical training across Europe, the Middle East, Asia & Africa. He has managed a number of Training Providers in different regions approved under GWO and within the wider offshore training sector. Thomas spent several years in the role of Approvals Auditor for Training Providers in the offshore industry globally, ensuring safety and quality of systems, resources, staff & delivery.
