Project progress is determined by many factors. This timeline is updated to reflect approvals and gates in the relevant project plan.
November 4, 2025
Public hearing completed. Pilot being planned: Takkion offering in Denver by first week of December. Training Committee will be presented option in November to go into the BTT.
September 22, 2025
Approval for Gate 3 completed. CoHE basic will be removed. Published Q1 2026.
September 17, 2025
Online Training Commitee meeting. Option 4 approved, major change.
Project scope
The review project is focused on improving the clarity and relevance of the standard, with a specific emphasis on isolation procedures as a critical safety element for individuals exposed to hazardous energies. The project also addresses overlaps with other standards and improves usability to better align with current industry needs.
Thomas joined GWO in 2023, with 20 years’ experience in development and delivery of Safety, Emergency Response & Technical training across Europe, the Middle East, Asia & Africa. He has managed a number of Training Providers in different regions approved under GWO and within the wider offshore training sector. Thomas spent several years in the role of Approvals Auditor for Training Providers in the offshore industry globally, ensuring safety and quality of systems, resources, staff & delivery.
