Global Wind Organisation (GWO) is seeking a dynamic and visionary Strategic Partnership Manager to lead our efforts in shaping the future of wind energy workforce development. GWO members strive for an injury free work environment, setting common international standards for safety training and workforce development

Standards help our industry work more efficiently and effectively. Last year, more than 170,000 technicians working within the wind industry received GWO certified training accessed from more than 550 third-party certified training providers throughout the world. GWO is on a path to expand this workforce significantly while creating a broader set of standards and frameworks, so we need your help.

How will you contribute?

As a Strategic Partnerships Manager, you will drive the identification, development, and management of strategic partnerships aligned with the GWO's strategic objectives – primarily workforce development. Your focus will be on broadening relationships with members, developing partnerships with international and national organisations and public education institutions. You are expected to seek to establish initiatives that increase long-term supply of skilled and trained workforce for GWO’s members and other employers of workforce in scope for GWO training.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Proactively identify potential strategic partners through comprehensive market research. Analyse and assess the feasibility and impact of partnership opportunities.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and industry leaders. Act as the primary point of contact for strategic partners, ensuring effective communication and understanding.
  • Lead negotiations for partnership agreements, defining terms, conditions, and financial arrangements.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Training Development, Governance Risk & Compliance and Training Quality Assurance to align partnership initiatives with organisational strategy.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for partnerships. Regularly assess partnership effectiveness and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market developments, and competitive landscapes. Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis.

What we expect:

  • Proven experience in strategic partnerships or business development roles.
  • Strong understanding of market trends, industry dynamics, and competitive landscapes. Wind industry or renewable experience is an advantage.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically, solve complex problems, and drive results.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Results-oriented with a track record of meeting or exceeding goals.
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written)
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office
