GWO has marked an important milestone in the development of the new High Voltage (HV) Standard, with successful completion of the pilot testing phase for the HV T-Connector Installation module.

Following up the first pilot at Skive College, Denmark, in June, the final pilot took place on 29–30 July 2026 at Reynard HV Solutions in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Reynard HV Solutions provided the ideal testing ground to validate the draft training module, with specialist HV technical expertise and facilities that recreate workplace conditions in high fidelity.

The pilot programme received strong support from GWO member companies taking part, including Siemens, Enercon, GWS, and Muehlhan who provide feedback that will help strengthen the final training package.
Observers from NKT were also present to provide technical feedback on supporting alignment to industry expectations, as one of the leading HV cable accessory manufacturers in the wind industry.
GWO Certified Training Providers RelyOn, BOTC, and Certified Safety Academy took part to share insights which will ensure the new standard is optimised for adoption within the GWO Training Provider community.
The participation and feedback of industry in pilots have been instrumental in evaluating the draft module and identifying opportunities for refinement.
We are now turning our attention to the remaining pilot activities for the upcoming HV Transformer Maintenance module, with sessions scheduled for:
The drafting of the final standard remains on track for completion later this year.
