Global Wind Organisation is rapidly becoming the world’s leading authority on workforce training, skills, and safety in the wind industry.

GWO is a not-for-profit organisation owned by the world's largest wind turbine manufacturers and owner operators.

Together with our members, GWO creates training standards in safety and technical skills required to wind technicians can install, operate, service and maintain the world's wind energy fleet. Standards help our industry work more efficiently and effectively. GWO Standards are taught in over 500 certified training centres located in more than 50 countries and territories around the world.

How will you contribute?

The GWO Statistics and Publications area on our web site will be your domain, and we want your insights and analysis to help us draw even more attention to the work we do on behalf of our members. On a broader level, you will also work closely with the GWO Secretariat to create accurate and compelling forecasts and data-driven content that supports our internal reporting, business development, marketing, and communications.

Primary responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyse our revenues and create relevant reporting for management use
  • Provide statistical and analytical content for Annual Report
  • Global Wind Workforce Outlook - Annual market forecast report of workforce and training needs in all global markets
  • Regular reports, market commentary and analysis to support strategic communication goals
  • Slide decks and ad hoc input for public presentations
  • Present the above via online meetings/webinars and in public where appropriate
  • Develop and Maintain PowerBI dashboards for GDSR and Secretariat use
  • Develop and Maintain PowerBI dashboards for external publication .

What we expect
Experience and personal profile:
  • 3-5 years experience as a market analyst, preferably in renewable energy or comparable sectors with a proven track record of delivering impactful insights
  • Expert user of Microsoft PowerBI
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools eg: SQL, Python, R
  • Ability to present complicated concepts in a simple manner, with a grasp of how to convert these ideas not only into market analysis reports, but also bite size,  useable content such as articles, social media posts, short reports.
  • Organised, flexible and service minded, highly analytical with excellent written and verbal skills.
Your expertise:

Our main current datasets are in a Microsoft Azure solution, and data mined using Power BI and Microsoft Excel. We also create data based on surveys and queries. Experience in these applications, and performing the following will be beneficial in the job.

  • Business intelligence and reporting

  • Data mining
  • Data visualization
  • Survey/queries
  • Programming
In addition, you must be
  • Fluent or native English speaker – written and oral
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office
Education

Degree in business, analytics, statistics, data communications or related field (Master's preferred)
