With the nomination stage of the GWO Safety & Training Awards 2026 drawing to a close, learn what's in store for the remainder of the competition.

The nomination stage of the GWO Safety & Training Awards is coming to an end and what a year it has been so far! We changed our approach this Awards cycle, with Course Participants’ nominations, rather than self-nominations, deciding whether instructors and training teams make it to the judging stage.
This new approach has seen a great response and highlighted the level of talent and commitment to safety we have across the entire GWO community. We are proud to share that 35 countries from the global training community have participated, representing more than half of the countries where GWO is active. We are also pleased to report continued growth in the Instructor of the Year category, with 146 instructors competing for regional titles in 2026.
The rest of the competition runs from 3 - 22 June, with only the top participants from each region invited to advance. Selected GWO Training Providers and Instructors will be contacted by 2 June with further details and instructions on how to participate.
Before proceeding to the judging stage, shortlisted participants will be asked to complete an Awards questionnaire which will help the judging panel deliberate before winners are announced at the GWO Safety & Training Awards in Paris.
Please note: To be considered for an award, training centres MUST complete the questionnaire for the judging stage.
On 3 June, we will share the following updates via social media and the GWO newsletter:
