Training in accordance with this Crane and Hoist Standard will enable participants to take responsibility to support and care for themselves and others while operating and maintaining small fixed cranes and hoists on basic lifting operations in the wind industry onshore and offshore.
The modules are aiming at ensuring awareness for the safe use and maintenance of lifting equipment. Because of the very generic scope that covers general components and functionalities of small fixed cranes and hoists, further familiarisation or additional equipment specific training must be expected on the actual work site. Furthermore, the requirement to follow the relevant lifting equipment manufacturers' manuals as well as legislation and duty holders' procedures is emphasised throughout the standard.
