The appointment of our first Chief Financial Officer (CFO) strengthens GWO's financial governance and provides a robust foundation for the next phase of transformation and growth

Copenhagen, 4 September 2026 - Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has appointed Morten V. Østergaard as Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective 15 September 2026. The appointment comes as GWO reviews its long-term strategy, which is expected to encompass transformation, diversification into solar and global growth activities in support of a safer and more skilled energy workforce.
Reporting to GWO's CEO, Østergaard joins the GWO executive team, working closely with the CEO and COO to define the organisation’s future strategic direction. Østergaard will hold overarching responsibility for financial sustainability, governance and organisational capability-building, ensuring GWO is fit to deliver on its strategy and continue supporting a safe, standardised and growing global energy workforce.
On the appointment, Jakob Lau Holst, CEO of GWO, said:

Østergaard brings executive leadership experience from international organisations across the shipping, pharmaceutical and insurance industries, and most recently led major transformation initiatives at an IT and cloud solutions company.
