GWO Appoints Alex Øbell Nielsen as Network Development Manager for the Americas

Copenhagen, 18 September 2026 - Global Wind Organisation (GWO) has recently appointed Alex Øbell Nielsen as Network Development Manager for the Americas. As the organisation supports wind and solar workers in building the skills needed for delivering the energy transition, this appointment reinforces ongoing efforts to strengthen the reach of GWO training with a primary focus on the Americas. With extensive experience in the wind industry, including leading the commercial activities of major Training Providers and Independent Service Providers (ISPs), Alex brings industry insight that will strengthen the engagement with stakeholders and support the development of the energy workforce in the region.

Commenting on the appointment, Alex remarked:

Having worked with GWO for many years as a Training Provider and GWO Safety & Training Awards judge, as well as through establishing new GWO training centres across several global regions, joining the organisation feels like a natural next step. I'm excited to work alongside our members, Training Providers, industry associations and other partners to continue strengthening global training standards and supporting the people who keep the wind industry moving.
