With demand for offshore wind power in Brazil projected to rise, the need for wind professionals is also expected to increase steadily, fostering the need for continuous skilling of new cohorts of personnel to meet this expected development.
The ABEEólica “Guideline for Safety and Professional Training in the Wind Industry” aligns national regulations with the GWO basic work safety and technical training for wind technicians, ensuring minimum duplicate training and a streamlined entry into the workforce. The Guideline clearly outlines effective and transparent standard skills for novices involved in operating and maintaining facilities in the area of wind power generation equipment services.
As the third national guideline released by GWO, alongside its Japanese and American counterparts, this guideline illustrates how collaboration between regional and national industry associations and GWO can close the workforce gap by raising the visibility of training pathways and attracting the next generation of skilled technicians.
In addition, the ABEEólica Guideline aims to close the skills gap by lowering the barriers to entry into the wind industry. It also enables the hiring of qualified personnel at scale and recommends competences and training considered important for their roles.
