Are you ready to lead with integrity and shape the future of governance, risk, and compliance in Global Wind Organisation (GWO)? We are looking for a highly capable and experienced professional, that can lead our GRC function and drive excellence for delivered training to the global wind workforce.

GWO strives for an injury free work environment in the wind industry, setting common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures together with its members.

As of today, there are more than 148,000 GWO certified technicians working within the wind industry. They have become certified by receiving training from one of the now +500 GWO certified training providers throughout the world. GWO operates this distributed system of Governance, Risk and Compliance overseeing quality of training delivery in more than 50 countries and territories. This is a complex and challenging task.

We have identified a need to improve the ways we organize our GRC function and build its competence to new levels. Our ambition is to develop the GRC function into an enabler and multiplier for continuous improvement to our network of certification bodies and their auditors, to our training provider and their instructors, as well as cross functionally within our secretariat. We are looking for a highly capable and competent leader with solid professional experience in implementing GRC framework in a complex organisation.

How will you contribute?

As the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective governance, risk management, and compliance framework. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring our company's operations adhere to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards. By implementing robust risk management strategies, you will safeguard our organisation's reputation and support our long-term success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set direction for and lead the Governance, Risk and Compliance function
  • Manage reporting to and from GRC with an aim for continuous improvement cross-functionally in the secretariat and towards external stakeholder (training participants, training providers, certification bodies)
  • Manage organisation structure, authority, responsibility, and accountability
  • Manage capabilities, ethics, and policy compliance
  • Manage business performance reporting
  • Manage policy management, documentation, and communication
  • Manage operations: invoicing, Auditor Qualification Training and Auditor Development Training planning, general case handling
  • Manage compliance and quality assurance: onboarding and alignment of training providers and certification bodies, business intelligence data, Zendesk case handling
  • Manage Wind Industry Database (WINDA) operation, user support, and testing

What we expect:

  • Highly skilled people leader, with experience in leading specialists and managing managers
  • Seasoned stakeholder manager, capable of manoeuvring high impact stakeholders from multinational matrix organisations
  • Extensive GRC experience, preferably from wind or similar industry
  • Experience in working in a regulatory context, preferably with an international perspective/scope
  • Experience with, or a certification within project management and ISO
  • Fluent in English (verbally and written)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office
