Merit assessing employees' existing training

Does your organisation want to align with GWO standards? Our merit assessment process allows existing training progammes to reviewed against GWO.

Align your training with GWO standards

GWO has developed a merit process that enables companies to assess existing qualifications and training among staff and merit those that fulfill the criteria to an equivalent GWO training record in WINDA.

The merit process is intended for:
  • New GWO members and other companies who wish to migrate their existing training to GWO Safety Training Standards
Merit assessing existing training against a GWO standard allows employers to:
  • Utilise the GWO database WINDA for verification
  • Establish recognition for previously non-GWO-certified personnel
  • Enjoy all of the safety and productivity benefits shared by employers operating in the GWO framework

The merit process includes a formal application, gap analysis (to identify if any gaps that may exist between your training and the relevant GWO standard). The process requires certain documentation as described in the Criteria for Merit Assessor and a subsequent video audit.

You can read the full Criteria for Merit Assessment here.

The GWO secretariat hosted a webinar on the merit process in June 2017. You can watch the webinar which also included updates on the BST and BTT here. The section regarding the merit process begins at 56:56.
