Today, GWO’s Taxonomy, first launched in 2021, has been officially integrated into all GWO training standards, following a meticulous process of reviewing and updating by the Training Team.

The taxonomy framework builds upon on multiple global qualification frameworks that focus on lifelong learning. Its aim is to ensure conformity and coherence between learning objectives in GWO training standards, and their related learning activities in trainings conducted by GWO training providers.

This will strengthen GWO’s risk and governance, as good training will be more easily recognised by auditors. Work force mobility will also increase, due to the defining of transparent, globally comparable levels of education which facilitate the portability of training certifications.

Thomas Grønlund, GWO Training Project Manager, adds:

“The taxonomy framework will enhance quality assurance by creating more effective training and auditing of training and will give better guidance on transforming learning objectives into focused learning activities. Training audits will now be more structured due to the coherent, and up to date set of detailed requirements and definitions that the framework offers. Definitions for planning, conducting and assessing, training and learning processes are now fully aligned across all GWO standards"
