General Assembly Elects New Board

The GWO General Assembly met on 21st Mar 2024 in Spain. During the busy programme GWO member representatives discussed GWO Workforce '26 Strategy and elected a trio of new representatives to the Board of Directors.

The GWO General Assembly met on 21st Mar 2024 in Spain. During the busy programme GWO member representative discussed GWO Workforce '26 Strategy and elected a trio of new representatives to the Board of Directors.

Election of New Board Members

New representatives elected to the Board for the first time are Rachel Porto (BRA), Head of Global HSSQ at Corio Generation; Edward Chargualaf (USA), Senior Director for Environment, Health & Safety at Avangrid and Tove Lund (NOR), Head of Safety, Security and Sustainability at Equinor. They will each serve a term of two years.

Ann Duedahl, Global Learning Leader at GE Vernova, has been re-elected to the Board, and will remain in place as Chair of the GWO Training Committee for a further two-year period. John Barrie, Global Head of Training at Vestas and Chair of the GWO Board of Directors, said:

I would like to warmly welcome our new Board members and thank them for this demonstration of commitment to GWO. I would also like to extend this gratitude on behalf of the Board to our General Assembly, who place their trust in us to take strategic decisions and guide the future of this organisation.

The GWO Board of Directors now comprises the following members:

  • China Committee Vice Chair: Huawen Xie, Envision Energy (CN)
  • Board Member: Rene Svanum Burholt, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy (DK)
  • Board Member: Tove Lunde, Equinor (NOR)
