Introducing New Board Member: Edward Chargualaf

At the most recent GWO Annual General Assembly, three new members were elected to the Board of Directors. The important work our Board members undertake suggested this was the perfect moment to first introduce Edward Chargualaf, one of the new board members, to the wider GWO community.

At the most recent GWO Annual General Assembly, three new members were elected to the Board of Directors. The important work our Board members undertake suggested this was the perfect moment to introduce, Tove Lunde, Edward Chargualaf, and Rachel Porto, in turn, to the wider GWO community.

Ed brings over 25 years of expertise in environmental health and safety, risk management, and emergency response to the renewable energy sector. He currently serves as the Senior Director for Environmental Health & Safety for North America at Avangrid, holding responsibility for onshore, offshore and solar assets. His dedication to raising industry standards and promoting safety excellence aligns seamlessly with GWO's mission to enhance employee protection from high-risk activities and ensure technical competency within its workforce. Furthermore, Ed recognizes the importance of fostering a relationship between GWO and Avangrid to benefit the wind market in North America.

Ed’s perspective on diversity within the wind industry reflects the vision going forwards:

“As an underrepresented individual in this profession, I am passionate about increasing representation in our global workforce. Aside from increasing recruiting efforts and outreach programs, I hope to increase early introduction to the renewable energy industry at high schools, community colleges and military institutions to bring enhanced representation to our industry.”

GWO is thrilled to welcome Edward Chargualaf to our board of directors. His expertise and passion for the wind safety industry promise to bring fresh perspectives and valuable contributions that will undoubtedly propel our organization and the industry forward.
