GWO is expanding the secretariat and is happy to welcome our two new colleagues: Broder Illing, Risk Manager and Ralph Savage, Head of Communication. The two positions are new, and have been created to support strategic development goals for GWO.
Broder Illing is a German national, with extensive background in risk management and IT projects working for global organizations in Germany and the UK. Broder’s responsibility at GWO is to ensure focus on and mitigation of risks in all aspects of the organization. “Broder Illing will reinforce our risk management,” says Jakob Lau Holst, CEO, and further adds, “He will secure our internal business processes, and develop our governance systems to support increased quality assurance of WINDA operations and of GWO training.”
Ralph Savage is a UK national, with an extensive background in communication and PR. His background is as a financial journalist. Through his own company, he has for several years of experience supporting customers in in the UK creating efficient business-to-business communication. “Ralph Savage will help increase our presence, visibility and accessibility online as well as at selected events.”, says Jakob Lau Holst. “The overall aim is to increase engagement with our many stakeholders, and allow better interaction in our work”.
The GWO 2019 work plan includes several new and enhanced training standards. All are the result of close collaboration between 16 globally leading wind energy companies who are the industry's largest employers.

From April 2019, certification bodies must document one of three ways their auditors are qualified to certify a GWO training site or course.
GWO training providers opened 21 new locations between July and September 2018.
