IMPORTANT UPDATE: New Criteria for Training Providers published

We are pleased to announce our latest update of the GWO Criteria for Training Providers.

We are pleased to announce our latest update of the GWO Criteria for Training Providers.

Version 6 of the Criteria is available from the GWO web site immediately and will come into force as a replacement for Version 5, on October 1, 2018. From today, Version 5 is no longer available from the GWO, but training providers and certification bodies are permitted to refer to the criteria until October 1, 2018.

After this date, all audits (including spot-checks) must be carried out against Version 6 of the Criteria.

Version 6 includes several important changes, notably, addressing the instructor qualification process and the delivery of training across a variety of fixed, mobile or on-site settings.

For the first time, GWO has created clear distinctions between the various delivery settings to include On-site (OT), in addition to Fixed Training Facilities (FTF) and Mobile Training Facilities (MTF). Training providers wishing to deliver OT may only do so if they have an established FTF or MTF facility.

Jakob Bjørn Nielsen, Senior Training Advisor at GWO, explains: “We listen carefully to the issues stakeholders bring to us and have developed updated criteria to reflect those needs.

“We have had wide-ranging industry feedback, most recently at the GWO event held at the Wind Europe Conference in Amsterdam where both instructor qualification and delivery settings were raised in discussion.”
