Use your skills to support Global Wind Organisation (GWO) in creating training standards for a safer and more productive workforce

GWO strive for an injury free work environment in the wind turbine industry, setting common international standards for safety training and emergency procedures together with its members

As of today, there are 148,000 GWO certified technicians working within the wind industry. They have become certified by receiving training from one of the 450+ GWO training providers throughout the world. Providing training standards that can stand the test of time at that scale, can only be done while focusing on key areas such as safety, productivity, local sourcing, and supply chain alignment.

How will you contribute

You will support the Global Development & Stakeholder Relations team in our delivery of a varied communication and stakeholder relations programme that includes regular SoMe posts, website updates, event management and ongoing campaign activity. You’ll be doing this by liaising with colleagues to create and deliver relevant communication to our stakeholders.

Additional responsibilities are:

  • Work with the GWO’s GDSR team to implement content campaigns
  • Support social media management
  • Support event production and execution
  • Create and edit simple graphics and photo/video content
  • Content management of GWO web sites
  • Generate content and copy in English and peer review the work of others in the team
  • Conduct desktop research on topics with industry stakeholders as needed

An overall pleasant person, well grounded in healthy values and good interpersonal skills. You know the importance of communicating constructively, and even when you do not know the answer to a question, you do take the time to assist the person seeking an answer.

What we expect:

  • You will quickly learn to understand what we do and why, helping to coordinate projects under supervision, and manage different tasks at once
  • You are organised, flexible and service minded, with excellent written and verbal skills  
  • You have excellent interpersonal skill with the ability to build working relations both internally and externally
  • You are a fluent or native English speaker – written and oral
  • You are an expert user of Microsoft Office including Powerpoint and Word
  • You have some prior knowledge of project management tools such as Monday.com is desirable.
  • Knowledge of SoMe, graphics and photo editing software is desirable
  • You have experience organising, coordinating and understanding research with both quantitative and qualitative results
  • You are academically ambitious and are studying for a relevant degree e.g. communications, business, marketing, media studies or similar
  • You plan to work with us for at least 18 months during your studies
