Whistle blowers encouraged to give training provider feedback

Whistle blowers can email the GWO Secretariat in confidence

Whistle blowers who are suspicious of potential non-compliance by a GWO Training Provider are being encouraged to get in touch with the Secretariat.

Investigations into non-compliant activity have already resulted in two training providers undergoing a full re-audit of their certifications this year and GWO members are keen to ensure the network is kept on notice that actions which undermine the learning objectives of training standards will not be tolerated.

Sabaz Herranz, Head of the GWO Audit and Compliance Committee, said: “Where there is evidence of non-compliance with GWO’s training standards or criteria, the Audit & Compliance Committee thoroughly investigates every time. An important way to help us do this is for people to know they can always contact the Secretariat with any concerns they may have. Emails to the GWO Audit and Compliance Committee will be treated in the strictest confidence and your evidence will help us maintain the integrity of our standards.”

Information worth sharing with us might include:
  • A potentially unsafe incident may have occured
  • A training course seemed rushed or took less time than you expected
  • There were too many delegates for the instructor
We cannot investigate without information to identify the training provider. Please provide as much of the following information as possible:
  • The training provider's name - what company
  • The location of the training
  • The date of the incident(s)
  • What you observed
  • Any attachments
