WINDA update moves into testing phase

WINDA update moves into testing phase

The previously announced WINDA update will shortly begin testing and GWO is expecting a release of the new version during week beginning March 19.

Based on feedback from the users and GWO, WSP Digital, which developed WINDA originally, has been working on this update since Autumn 2017. The GWO secretariat will soon receive the updated version in a closed testing environment, helping to ensure all functionality works as intended. GWO has also enlisted the help of several GWO certified Training Providers to assist with rigorous testing and Quality Assurance. Making sure that WINDA works well and without bugs or issues of any kind is a priority to GWO.

The update contains about 50 different changes to WINDA. Some of the updates are very minor and have to do with increased usability, while others include new functionality such as enabling training providers to operate multiple sites from a single log-in and a Survey option for trained Delegates to deliver feedback on the training received directly in WINDA from the Training Provider.



Full details of the latest WINDA patch notes are as follows:

Update to existing functionality

  • Enabling Training Providers to operate multiple sites from one log-in account
  • Enabling Training Provider admins to change their own details and not be dependent on co-admins
  • Enabling Training Provider admins to sort staff users between active and inactive
  • Enabling Training Providers to see and modify description field before upload and modify description before and after purchase
  • Enabling Training Providers to see the content that is uploaded including WINDA ID and Delegate names prior to purchasing upload
  • Enabling Training Providers to see the name of the Delegate when entering the WINDA ID for single course upload
  • Ability to upload training records on mobile device running IOS/Android through website optimization
  • Enabling Training Providers to request GWO to revoke training records directly from the specific upload
  • Enabling Training Providers to download and sort data they have uploaded including search function on uploaded WINDA ID’s dates, courses etc
  • All users will see a notification when entering a non-existing WINDA ID in the search window
  • Update to grid view displaying training records including function to sort columns freely
  • Ability for Training Providers to choose a different billing address than the site address when purchasing WINDA credits
  • Change to sign-up boxes when registering for a profile in WINDA and hosting the T&C and Privacy Policy directly in WINDA.
  • Ability to hide unpaid orders

 

New functionality:

  • Separate page accessible for all users containing all GWO certified Training Providers which are searchable by name, country and GWO modules
  • Survey option for trained Delegates to deliver feedback on the training received directly in WINDA from the Training Provider.

 

Design

  • Link to globalwindsafety.org on the frontpage
  • Changing wording and description several places to accommodate feedback received
  • Adding Northern Ireland as a country code for Delegates signing up
  • A variety of changes to the WINDA backend function allowing GWO to keep a better audit trail and overview of users in WINDA.
